Discrepancy

The sermon, talking about Christian with discrepancy between his/her behaviour and thought, delivered last Sunday stirred me a lot. Coincidently I thought about this issue in recent weeks.

To a certain extent, I might be one of the guys mentioned above.

From the sociological view, people obey the law for different reasons and hence different levels.
The lowest level is people are afraid of punishment, such as fine, imprisonment, scolding from others etc.
For the normal level, it is because that is what the Law says.
The above people can't identify the right from wrong if there is no punishment/law exists
For the highest level, people have internalized and agreed with the value set behind. For instance, people won't drop litter coz they wholeheartedly want to keep Hong Kong clean rather than avoid the $1500 penalty.

There is a set of value in Christianity established long time ago. Maybe the modern values bombard the world and dilute what the moral standard set from the Lord, it is really a long process to shake people's intrinsic belief and internalized the traditional one.

In my innermost thoughts, I still not yet internalized all of them. Sometimes I would wonder, why this and that is wrong? Why people can’t do that?…B/S would say 'That is the Bible/God says'. But..in fact, to me, I am not satisfied with this explanation I thought there should be far more than that which i am not wise enough to reach.

Like a father feeds nutritious meal to his child. It might not tasty and the child eats it because that is what his father said. However, when he grows up, he will realize the reason behind which is for his good health.

The child is too small to understand what his father does. It seemed human are not wise enough to understand everything our heavenly Father done for us.

I believed,
blessed are the people who is simple and obedient to God
blessed also are the people who is curious and thirst for more about the God
